Make your cameras proactive.

Cam Shield is a virtual security guard that watches the cameras you already own — 24 hours a day — and calls your armed response when something real happens.

Works with your existing cameras.

Your cameras are recording. Nobody is watching.

Cameras document crime. They don't prevent it.

Footage gets watched the morning after — once the gate is open, the car is gone, and there's nothing left to do but file a claim.

Motion alerts cry wolf.

A moth. A branch. The neighbour's cat. After the fortieth false alarm you mute the app, and the one that matters arrives in silence.

A person watching screens costs more than the cameras did.

Paying someone to watch your feeds around the clock is out of reach for most properties. So the screens sit unwatched.

How Cam Shield works

1

You join. We do the setup.

Send us your details and we connect your existing cameras ourselves. Nothing to install, nothing to buy, nothing to replace. If your cameras can share their stream, that's all we need.

2

It watches, 24 hours a day.

Every camera, every hour — through the night, through the workday, through the weekend. It doesn't get bored, and it doesn't take a night off.

3

Real incidents reach your armed response.

Not a motion alert. A description of what is actually happening — and a call to the armed response company you already use, so someone is on their way.

It’s AI camera monitoring with a simple job: fewer alerts, and every one of them worth reading.

It judges behaviour, not motion.

A person walking past your wall is not an incident. A person waiting outside it for twenty minutes is. Cam Shield is built to know the difference.

Comparing ordinary activity with activity that triggers an alert
Ordinary life. No alert.Something’s wrong. You’ll hear about it.
Someone walking past the propertyLoitering outside the property
A dog being walkedSleeping or camping at your boundary
Cars coming and going as usualClimbing a fence
Visitors next doorTampering with the property
Deliveries at the gateDamage, or forced entry
Violence or weapons

When an alert does come, it tells you what it saw — not “motion detected in zone 2.”

Here’s one.

Person entering vehicle · 01:22

01:22 in the morning. Fresnaye.

We’ve all been there — you forgot to lock the car. Someone walks up to it on a quiet street, flashlight in hand, and gets in. Cam Shield flagged it while it was happening.

Cam Shield knows it’s the early hours of the morning, and someone going through your car is seriously suspicious.

Who Cam Shield is for

Homeowners

You already have the cameras. This is the part that was missing — someone watching them while you sleep, work, or travel.

Estates, complexes and neighbourhood watch

Perimeters, entrances and common areas watched continuously, without adding a single guard or screen. One system across every camera on the property.

Businesses and commercial sites

Yards, warehouses, forecourts and storefronts — covered through the night and through the weekend, when the building is empty and nobody is looking.

Armed response companies

You're the ones we call. Cam Shield works with the company your customer is already with, and what reaches you describes real behaviour on the property — not a sensor tripping. You review it and you decide whether to roll. Cam Shield brings you a judged incident, not an automated dispatch request.

Where we are today

Cam Shield is in pilot. We’d rather tell you exactly what that means than dress it up.

It’s running on 20 cameras right now — real properties, real driveways, real streets.

It’s already flagged something real.

The Fresnaye clip above — 01:22, someone getting into a parked car — was flagged as it happened, not found the next morning in footage.

The pilot is free.

No risk, no obligation, no payment. It stays free for as long as we're in pilot — and when we launch, you'll hear from us first. Nothing is charged without you agreeing to it.

Pricing

From R220per camera, per month

— after the pilot. Homes are priced per camera. Estates and commercial sites are quoted on their own.

  • It costs a fraction of what it takes to pay a person to watch the same cameras.
  • Services that do watch cameras usually only watch at night. Cam Shield watches the daylight hours too, for less.

And during the pilot: nothing. Free is free.

Your footage is yours

Your camera feed is protected by industry-standard security protocols. Your personal information is never sold.

Footage from real incidents does help Cam Shield get better at recognising them. We’d rather tell you that up front than let you find it out later.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Do I need to buy new cameras?
No. Cam Shield works with the security cameras you already own. If your cameras can share their stream, that's all we need — and we do the connecting ourselves.
Will it work with my cameras?
Almost certainly. Most IP cameras sold in the last few years work fine, and we check yours when you join, before anything else happens. It runs over your existing internet connection and uses very little of it.
What happens during load shedding?
If the power is out and your cameras and router are off, there's nothing for Cam Shield to watch — the same as any camera system. If your cameras run on a UPS or inverter, as many already do, Cam Shield keeps watching straight through it.
Will I get false alarms all day?
No — that's rather the point. Cam Shield judges behaviour, not motion. Walking past, deliveries, cars coming and going, visitors next door: ordinary life on your property isn't what it's looking for. When an alert does arrive, it's because something looked wrong.
What if it misses something?
No system sees everything, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What we will say is this: Cam Shield is watching every one of your cameras, every hour of the day. That is considerably more than an unwatched screen was ever doing.
Who's watching my footage?
Nobody sits watching your cameras — that's the whole reason this costs a fraction of what a guard does. Cam Shield watches automatically. When something is flagged, it goes to your own armed response company, who look at it and decide whether to act.
Is my footage used to train AI models?
Yes. Footage from real incidents helps Cam Shield get better at telling an actual problem from an ordinary evening — that's how it improves. We'd rather say so plainly than give you a comfortable answer that isn't true. What we don't do is sell your personal information.
Which armed response company do you call?
Yours. Cam Shield is built to work with the company you're already with — you tell us who they are when you join. They review what was flagged before anyone is dispatched, so a call-out stays a decision someone made, not an automatic reaction to an alert.
Does it only work at night?
No. Cam Shield watches 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Services that only watch after dark leave your property unwatched for most of the week.
What does it cost?
The pilot is free. After that, pricing starts at R220 per camera per month, with estates and commercial sites quoted individually.
How long does setup take?
You don't do it — we do. Once you join, we'll be in touch within one working day to get your cameras connected.

What you get today

Cam Shield is in pilot, so here’s the plain version. Right now, a pilot member gets an alert on their phone when a real incident is seen. The call straight through to your armed response company is what we’re building toward — it isn’t switched on for pilot members yet. You’ll know when it is.

Free. No obligation. We’ll be in touch within one working day.
